Culik Law Sues Debt Collector for Incorrect Default Request
Culik Law has filed a lawsuit in Massachusetts federal court against the debt collection law firm Lustig, Glaser & Wilson, PC under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. The lawsuit alleges that the debt collector incorrectly requested a default against a consumer although the consumer had filed a response to the collection complaint denying liability. Culik Law was later able to get the case dismissed. Under the FDPCA, a consumer is entitled to up to $1,000 in statutory damages, actual damages, court costs, and attorney’s fees.
